Gossip Girl Actor Ed Westwick Is Under Investigation For Rape

The actor has previously denied the allegations

Ed Westwick is officially being investigated by Los Angeles police for alleged sex crimes, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has confirmed.

“I can confirm that a case was presented to our office involving Ed Westwick,” a DA’s office spokesperson told Deadline.

“The matter is under review. The District Attorney’s office does not identify victims of sex crimes and, therefore, cannot provide any information on who the allegations involve.”

To date, four women have accused the actor of rape or assault, which Westwick has vehemently denied. The actor has since deleted his two original statements denying the accusations from his Twitter account.

Krisina Cohen was the first woman to speak out against Westwick, recounting a horrific alleged encounter via Facebook in November. She then filed a police report, which alleged that the “suspect forced victim to have sexual intercourse inside his residence…three years ago”.

According to Cohen, she was having dinner at Westwick’s house with her producer boyfriend three years ago when Westwick “suggested ‘we should all fuck.’” She and her boyfriend brushed off the invitation, but what followed “was a nightmare.”

“I said I was tired and wanted to leave, trying to get out of what was already an uncomfortable situation. Ed suggested I nap in the guest bedroom. The producer said we would stay for just another 20 more minutes to smooth everything over, and then we could leave,” Cohen wrote on Facebook.

“So I went and laid down in the guest room where I eventually fell asleep, I was woken up abruptly by Ed on top of me, his fingers entering my body. I told him to stop, but he was strong. I fought him off as hard as I could but he grabbed my face in his hands, shaking me, telling me he wanted to fuck me. I was paralyzed, terrified. I couldn’t speak, I could no longer move. He held me down and raped me.”

In response to Cohen’s Facebook post, Westwick tweeted: “I do not know this woman. I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape.”

Aurelie Wynn, who goes by the stage name Aurelie Marie Cao, has alleged Westwick raped her at a party in July 2014.

“It is disheartening and sad to me that as a result of two unverified and provably untrue social media claims, there are some in this environment who could ever conclude I have had anything to do with such vile and horrific conduct. I have absolutely not, and I am cooperating with the authorities so that they can clear my name as soon as possible,” Westwick wrote in response to the allegations in a now-deleted tweet.

Rachel Eck told Buzzfeed that Westwick sexually assaulted her the night before the Academy Awards in 2014, while in an interview with the Daily Mail, stylist Haley Camille Freedman accused Westwick of sexually assaulting her in 2014.
