Elie Saab Designed 2 Incredible Custom Wedding Dresses for His Daughter-In-Law

They're breathtaking

Imagine if you could have any wedding dress you wanted custom made for you by one of the best bridal designers in the world. Now imagine you could have two.

That dream just became a reality for Christina Mourad who married Elie Saab’s son, Elie Saab Jr., in a lavish Lebanese ceremony which took place over three days and included two princess-worthy gowns.

According to Brides, the couple got engaged after just three months of dating, but planning the wedding and creating the dresses would take a bit longer. “Elie wanted to get married last year just after the proposal,” Mourad said, revealing she had to push it out because her dresses wouldn’t be ready in time – “It was too short in terms of organisation; even to create my gown!”

Mourad’s first wedding dress for the couple’s traditional ceremony was a custom Elie Saab Haute Couture sleeveless tulle gown with an incredible 14-foot train. It was embroidered with ivory silk and champagne lurex thread and featured no less than 500,000 sequins.

Brides also revealed that Saab and his team spent 450 hours doing the dresses’ embroidery, 150 hours with draping, and 200 hours of tailoring.

The bride’s reception dress was no less show-stopping than her first: a shimmering golden gown which was inspired by Elie Saab’s latest Haute Couture collection. According to British Vogue, the heart-shaped corset gown featured 650,000 gold sequins and 150,000 Swarovski strass pieces. The long veil alone contained a further 100,000 gold sequins.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
