Her new movie, Flatliners, centres on medical students toying with near-death experiences, but Ellen Page has a terrifying real life version of events to inform her portrayal of her character: she's had a near-death experience herself.
The 30-year-old actress has revealed to People that she was almost crushed by a stampeding herd of bulls while filming in Portugal.
"I went for a walk in the morning with the director in this field, and then all of a sudden there were just bulls everywhere - and the bulls started coming at us," she recalls.
"And I really, truly thought, like, this is it; this is how I'm going to die."
Thankfully, the bulls changed course at the last minute, and Page and her director bolted back to set. Still, she deems the event one of the 'more jarring experiences" of her life.
