Months after the series ended, the show’s creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss finally spoke out about the blunder, saying, "We're concentrating so much on Daenerys and Jon Snow … that we just didn't see this coffee cup right in the middle".
We now knew the how, but not the who!
But Emilia has finally set the record straight during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.
"So here’s the truth..." she said. "We had a party before the Emmys recently, and Conleth [Hill], who plays Varys, who was sitting next to me in that scene, he pulls me aside and he's like, 'Emilia, I have got to tell you something, love. The coffee cup was mine.'"
"He said, 'I think it was, I am sorry, darling. I didn’t want to say anything because it seemed the heat was very much on you,' and I was like, 'What!?!'"
The ‘heat’ he’s referring to is Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) weighing in on who the culprit was during The Tonight Show in May. She implied that it must have been Emilia because the cup was sitting in front of her, and fans were buying it.
