Emilia Clarke’s ‘Free The P’ Campaign Finally Pays Off On ‘Game of Thrones’

Alas it wasn't Jon Snow's…

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD FOR EPISODE 5, SEASON 6.

In last night’s episode of Game Of Thrones, as well as having us weeping over the what went down with Hodor, there was something else that happened that if you blinked you might have missed it (no pun intended).

That’s right this week’s GOT finally ‘freed the penis’. Albeit somewhat briefly.

Haven’t they already I hear you asking? Surely this isn’t the first time you say? Well yes, after five (and a half) seasons this is the fist time the show has featured full-frontal male nudity (Hodor’s prosthetics not included).

Sadly however the member in question wasn’t that of Jon Snow or any other major character, it was that of a young actor (played by Rob Callender) playing the late King Joffrey in a comedic play.

The actor is backstage lamenting some, ahem warts, on his penis, and Arya is there observing the troupe after being tasked with killing one of the actresses in the play.

It seems all that campaigning by Emilia Clarke, who has had more than her share of nude scenes in the hit show, has paid off.

“I feel some things about it,” the actress said when asked by James Corden on The Late Late Show about the nudity imbalance on GOT. “I feel like there’s a little bit of inequality with the amount of nudity that happens with women, this woman in particular, and that happens with the other guys. I just think that should be even.”

“Free the penis!” she declared before breaking into a chant: “Take it off!”

After the episode aired, Clarke appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where the host asked her about the scene.

“There was a new character that was introduced last night, and the new character is a penis,” said Colbert. “It’s about damn time, right?”

To which the actress declared, “Well yes, I think so! I did it, why can’t the boys do it?” I think they heard me. Junk equality!”
