Emma Roberts’ New Rom-Com ‘Holidate’ Is Bringing The Christmas Cheer Early This Year

Not a moment too soon

This year has been seemingly never-ending, so it’s officially time to start wrapping it up. Thankfully, the holiday season is coming early this year thanks to Emma Roberts bringing us some light-hearted Christmas romanceand not a moment too soon.

The actress, who is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund, is starring in Netflix’s newest rom-com Holidate, alongside Australian actor Luke Bracey.

The official description reads, “Sloane (Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) hate the holidays. They constantly find themselves single, sitting at the kids table, or stuck with awkward dates. But when these two strangers meet one particularly bad Christmas, they make a pact to be each other’s ‘holidate’ for every festive occasion throughout the next year. With a mutual disdain for the holidays, and assuring themselves that they have no romantic interest in the other, they make the perfect team. However, as a year of absurd celebrations come to an end, Sloane and Jackson find that sharing everything they hate may just prove to be something they unexpectedly love.”

The upcoming film, directed by John Whitesell, also stars Andrew Bachelor and Kristin Chenoweth, and, in honour of National Singles Week (September 15-21), Netflix has shared the full-length trailer—so prepare for some cheese!

Holidate will premiere on Netflix on October 28.
