Emma Watson Motivates a Fan via FaceTime

In typical Hermione-fashion, she didn't mince her words.

She’s come along way from playing the studious Hogwarts student, Hermione Granger, from Harry Potter but it seems a little bit of the teenage witch lives on in Emma Watson.

It’s not everyday you get FaceTimed by a Hollywood superstar, but that’s exactly what happened to Therese Kiara last week when her mum approached Watson while waiting in line at a shop in New York City.

The young student took to Facebook to describe the encounter: “I was just studying for my Bio exam when my Mom called to show Emma Watson standing behind her, then she approached and politely asked Emma if she can say hi to me on the cam. She was so kind and sweet.”

In true Hermione-style, the 27-year-old The Circle star simply said: “Sure! Hi! Study hard!”

The fan encounter comes just a month after the UN WOMEN Global Goodwill Ambassador revealed in an interview with Vanity Fair her reluctance to take selfies with people in public.

“For me, it’s the difference between being able to have a life and not. If someone takes a photograph of me and posts it, within two seconds they’ve created a marker of exactly where I am within 10 metres,” she told the publication.

Therese Kiara is one lucky fan.
