From the curation of the CELINE haute parfumerie fragrances, serving as well defined anthology of the brands history situated on mirrored plinths, to the selection of vintage furniture artistically assembled across the tiled floor, some of which are pieces from Slimane’s own archives, right down to the ambient playlist booming throughout the room—every element is almost like an education in what makes Slimane so enviable as a designer.
An osmosis of his tastes, aptitudes and prowess for creating some of the most popular designs of all time, if you will.
As any good wardrobe will do, CELINE’s new boutique is a haven for the brand’s supermodel approved ready-to-wear, accessories, beauty and objects.
A pink Triomphe purse in Barbiecore-approved bouclette situates itself amongst an array of leather and monogrammed canvas Ava crescent bags and Mini 16 top handles in concrete mantel shelves.
Elsewhere, across from the marbled changing rooms lie you can find an exclusive selection of ready-to-wear, from sultry yet sophisticated double breasted blazers to their oh-so-snug denim, for which they’ve become renowned for.
Whether you’re there to pursue or purchase, this store offers something for everyone. Including, but obviously not limited to, a library of photography, art and culture books for you to browse in between trying on your next investment.
Since Slimane has perfected the aesthetic of French-girl chic and Los Angeles edge, this store and it’s design is provides the perfect form of transcontinental escapism.
In another life, we’d like to imagine we’d be reincarnated as a pseudo Kaia Gerber type—someone who has found themselves a muse for a luxury designer house and is a regular in their creative directors wardrobe, helping themselves to the latest cult-favourite designs.
Thankfully for us, all we need to do is visit the CELINE store in Sydney’s Westfield to live out that fantasy.
Indeed, CELINE’s new store is helping us unlock our imagination and indulge in our deepest desires. What CELINE woman do we want to be today?
Will we be tramping the Champs-Élysées, decked out in an oversized woollen cardigan, lavallière blouse and pleated trousers à la Camille Rowe?
