After the highs of New York Fashion Week which saw everyone from celebrity lovebirds Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin to Victoria’s Secret models Adriana Lima and Josephine Skriver staking their place on the all-important fashion front row, expectations were high for a similar star-studded offering at London Fashion Week. And the Brit fash pack has delivered.
Leading the fashion front row charge were the Beckham family, who were out in force at mum’s, Victoria Beckham, Spring/Summer 2019 RTW show on Sunday. The four Beckham kids Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, sat runway-side with their dad, soccer star David Beckham, during the show.
British-based designer Mary Katrantzou had a similarly stacked front row as did Julien Macdonald, with both designers boasting a slew of models, It girls and British aristocracy including Liam Payne’s rumoured love interest Cairo Dwek and 38th-in-line to the British throne, Lady Amelia Windsor.
Madonna got her Stan Smith’s autographed at the Stan Smith x Stella McCartney event, and FKA Twigs made her presence known at Christopher Kane. Burberry was a celeb-free zone in the front row, but Kendall Jenner did walk for Riccardo Tisci’s first show for the storied British brand, which more than makes up for the lack of front row star-power.
Emilia Wickstead landed a slew of acting talent in its front row along with sports star Dina Asher-Smith.
