Jason Sheats, the father of two daughters who were brutally murdered by his wife, Christy Sheats, says she spared his life because she wanted him to live with the horrible memory.
Speaking to detectives, Jason said ‘he felt Christy wanted him to suffer,’ Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls told khou.com. ‘Christy knew how much he loved Taylor and Madison and how much they loved him.’
The fact that his wife killed his daughters on his birthday means Jason ‘will have to live the rest of his life with this horrible memory,’ Nehls said.
Jason also told detectives Taylor was fighting with her mum on the day of the shooting. Christy wanted to ground Taylor, preventing her from seeing her fiancé. The couple had planned to wed on Monday.
Christy called a family meeting, and Jason said he thought she was going to tell the girls about their plans to separate. Instead, she pulled out a gun and killed her daughters.
