Tiphaine Auzière Is The Feminist First Daughter The World Needs

She's hit back at sexist attacks on Brigitte Macron

Meet Tiphaine Auzière, the youngest daughter of France’s new first lady, Brigitte Macron.

The 32-year-old lawyer has us nodding our heads in agreement over her remarks calling out the “abhorrent” attacks on her mother’s relationship with French President Emmanuel Macron.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s presidential inauguration, Auzière told The Guardian that comments about the age difference between her mother, 64, and stepfather, 39, were “totally outrageous” in 21st century France.

“These are attacks that we wouldn’t direct at male politicians or at a man who would accompany a female politician. So I think there’s a lot of jealousy, and that this is very inappropriate,” she said.

Auzière added: “On the ground, on the contrary, I meet people who admire what she does, her work, her involvement. If people have nothing else to do but criticise, let them do it, it will only bring us closer together.”

And while Ivanka Trump has been slammed for sticking by her father’s policies and ignoring the feminist cause, Auzière could be the feminist first daughter the world needs right now.
