Mr Matthews asked Miss Middleton’s father for permission before he proposed, the Daily Mail reported, because he is a “traditionalist” and “wanted to do things properly”.
Middleton and Matthews first dated in 2012 before parting ways – and reunited in 2015. The pair have been spotted vacation in St. Barts with the Middleton family, and most recently looking loved-up court-side at Wimbledon.
Middleton's ring is estimated to have cost GBP200,000 ($AUD350,000). According to London's The Telegraph the central stone is thought to be at least three carats. It has Art Deco aesthetic, and it possibly an Asscher cut diamond.
