“She’s So Big”: Florida Mum Gives Birth To 5.9kg Baby

'It Was Like I Delivered a Toddler'

Florida mother Chrissy Corbitt is still in shock after delivering her fourth-child that weighs in at 5.9kg (13 pounds, 5 ounces).

The 29-year-old mother gave birth via cesarean to daughter Carleigh last month.

“When the paediatrician showed her to me across the curtain, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s huge,’” Chrissy told InsideEdition.com. “I couldn’t believe it. It was like I delivered a toddler.”

Her husband, Larry Corbitt explained: “It was so funny because she had a C-section so all the blankets were over her so you couldn’t see what was going on. The doctor said, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s going to be 15-pounds.’ I remember the doctor saying, ‘I don’t think this baby is going to end. Are there two of them?’”

“Her cheeks were so chunky and she was just so fat. She was so gorgeous, of course.”

Corbitt said she was expecting her daughter to be on the bigger side because her three other children weighed in at around 9 or 10 pounds.

Finding nappies to accommodate their daughter has been a struggle, the parents shared.

“She’s like a 6 month old baby,” Larry told ABC News. “We even contacted Pampers and Huggies to help us out because everything we got to prepare is just out the door. None of it fits. She’s in size 3 diapers. The clothes she had on yesterday was a 9-month outfit. She’s huge.”

“She’s just a happy baby, she smiles all the time,” Chrissy added. “I can’t get enough of her.”
