Frances McDormand’s Oscar Was Stolen At The After Party

The thief posted a video to social media

In her acceptance speech at yesterday’s Oscars, Frances McDormand placed her award on the stage in front of her and asked all the female nominees to stand.

The moment quickly went viral with the Best Actress winner highlighting the achievements of every woman in the room, before ending the speech with, “I have two words to leave with you tonight: inclusion rider.”

But just hours after being awarded the Oscar for her role in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Frances’ award was stolen from her table at the Governor’s Ball after party.

The thief, however, didn’t get away with the stolen goods for very long, getting caught after posting a video of himself with the Oscar on social media.

Terry Bryant took to Facebook Live video, holding up the trophy and claiming, “Got this tonight! This is mine. We got it tonight, baby!”

He was arrested on grand theft charges shortly afterwards and the award was returned to Frances, Variety reports.
