On the weekend I use Kevin Aucoin The Volume tubular mascara, which can be washed off with water (this is partly because I am hopeless at getting normal mascara off and partly because I live near the beach and tubular mascaras don’t leave smudges under your eyes if your face gets wet). At work, I go for something a little more dramatic and use Lancome Hypnôse.

Shu Uemura’s Tokyo Lash Instant Volume mascara changed my life (or at least, my make-up removal routine). It’s tubular so it washes off easily in warm water, no harsh cleanser necessary, and I never wake up with panda eyes. I also love that it lengthens and thickens lashes without ever clumping.

I’m not very loyal to mascara brands, but I’m using a By Terry one right now and I’m not sure I’ll be able to go back to a chemist brand. It’s fab for volume, isn’t at all gluggy and comes off really easily at the end of the day. I’m about the only person in the world that can’t wear Maybelline Great Lash because I get an allergic reaction.
