Sansa Stark went from being betrothed to horrible little Joffrey Baratheon, to being forced into marriage with Tyrion Lannister – who was, at least, nice to her, to then having to marry potentially the worst character on Game of Thrones, Ramsay Bolton.
Though she’s had her fair share of unideal men, the up-side is that it’s turned Sansa into a badass, independent character, who is a far cry from the princess we saw in season one.
Now, a fan theory has picked that the Stark sister will be married off again, however, thankfully, this guy looks quite nice. Touch wood.
Mashable recently pointed out a fan theory posted on Reddit by a user named ALL_STAR_87, which says Sansa will be matched with Dickon Tarly, Samwell’s brother.
Samwell is, of course, BFFs with Jon Snow, so there’s already a family link, plus while there’s currently a Tarly-Lannister alliance, Dickon doesn’t seem to down with it, and the Tarly’s did once support House Targaryen.
“If Randyll croaks and Dickon survives there’s a chance he could abandon his father’s pact with the Lannisters, paving the way to reconnect with his brother Sam — who happens to have the Tarlys Valyrian steel sword… With the Starks/Targaryens looking likely to take on the walkers, Sam bringing House Tarly (and most likely the rest of The Reach) onboard would be a big strategic win,” the Reddit user wrote.
They also noted that Dickon does join the fight in the north, he would most certainly come across Sansa, which could potentially pave the way for a “perfect partnership bringing together north and south.”
Though we’d be stoked if Sansa did, indeed, marry a lovely, handsome man, let’s not forget: it’s Game of Thrones we’re watching here.
