Who Is Gemma Chan And Why Is She So Well Dressed All The Time?

Our new red carpet queen, that's who

In case you haven’t watched Crazy Rich Asians, or looked at any recent red carpets from the just-finished award season, you might have no idea who we’re talking about when we talk about Gemma Chan. Doesn’t sound familiar? Let us enlighten you.

The British actress, who is best known for her roles in Crazy Rich Asians and now Captain Marvel, was born in London and studied law before entering the world of acting. Fast forward a decade and the 36-year-old has become a regular on the red carpet — where she tops just about every best dressed list there is to top.

From her jaw-dropping Valentino gown at the 2019 Golden Globes to her shockingly pink number at the Oscars (from the same designer) and her foray into futuristic pantsuits by way of a Ralph & Russo pant/dress hybrid, Chan has certainly gotten our attention for her style. Girlish and pretty whilst still maintaining a seriousness, Chan’s outfits evoke an easygoing nature which not everyone can pull off so effortlessly. And with her penchant for colour, Chan manages to pull off some of the hardest shades, every time.

Below, we’ve rounded up our favourite style moments from the actress, Valentino, haute couture and black tie gowns with pockets all included.
