Congratulations are in order for Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik, who have officially welcomed their first child together—a daughter.
The couple announced the happy news via Twitter on September 24, 2020, revealing the new addition to their family.
In the photo shared to Zayn Malik’s Twitter, the singer could be seen holding the newborn’s hand. The couple have yet to announce the name of their little girl.
“Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful. To try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task. The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x,” he wrote in the accompanying caption.
Not long after Malik’s post, Hadid also announced the birth of their daughter on her Instagram.
“Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world,” she wrote in her caption. “So in love🥺💕”
Their announcement comes after an Instagram post shared by Hadid’s father, Mohammad Hadid, which caused fans to speculate that the model had already given birth.
Penning what seemed to be a handwritten letter to his new grandchild in the since-deleted post, Hadid wrote:
“Hello little grandchild, it is me, my heart as happy as can be. I wish for you the sun & moon, I wish for you a happy time. Know that grandpa’s always here, I’ll do anything, anything for you, my dear.”
In the caption, he wrote: “In the name of God [the] merciful I want to say l love you and [am] so proud of you.”
News that the couple were expecting was confirmed back in May, when Hadid appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon via Zoom following speculation that she was pregnant.
“Obviously, you know, we wish we could’ve announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support,” she said.
Hadid has spoken about her pregnancy on numerous occasions, from discussing her cravings to the activities she’s missed during it (horseriding), and also shared a beautiful series of images from her maternity photo shoot to her Instagram.
