Yesterday, the entire world went into lockdown over the news that supermodel Gigi Hadid and One Direction alum Zayn Malik were reportedly expecting their first child. The on-again, off-again couple rekindled their relationship towards the end of last year, and despite neither party having confirmed the rumours publicly, fans have not hesitated in investigating the news.
Which brings us to our next point. Social media users are speculating that Gigi’s low-key 25th birthday celebrations doubled up as a secret gender reveal party, with a vital clue to the gender of the couple’s baby found in one of the photos the model posted to Instagram.
If you look closely, the two silver balloons Gigi posed with on her birthday – a two and a five – are kept afloat with two different coloured strings. Yep, you guessed it, one blue, and one pink. The sixth photo in the slideshow shows Gigi and Zayn sharing a sweet embrace, featuring just one balloon. The blue one.
Naturally, Twitter went into a frenzy, immediately declaring that the couple is expecting a boy.
If that information wasn’t enough to convince you, fans went one step further, analysing the odd (but now, making a LOT of sense) gift bags that were used to celebrate Gigi’s birthday. One bag was decorated with Baby Shark images (a clue in itself), and the other design, was strategically covered by a strange sunflower emoji.
Of course, the internet was able to track the hidden gift bag down, and it displays an extremely telling phrase, “hello little one.”
While we wait in anticipation for Gigi and Zayn to share their happy news with the world, we’re just going to take a couple of moments to stew over this crazy revelation and try not to freak out about it… Ok, just kidding – we’re totally freaking out!
