Why ‘Girls Trip’ Is The Outrageously Funny Film You Need To See

For fans of 'Bridesmaids' and 'The Hangover'

The new female-led comedy Girls trip, starring Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah, ticks a hell of a lot of boxes. Outrageously funny? Check. A stellar ensemble cast? Check. An unforgettable scene featuring a grapefruit and oral sex? Check check.

The film follows four friends from college—aka The Flossy Posse—who reconnect in New Orleans for a wild weekend at the annual Essence Festival.

The foursome, which also includes hilarious breakout star Tiffany Haddish plus Regina Hall, put their old friendship to the test now that motherhood, marriage breakdowns and time has gotten in the way. Expect plenty of dancing, drinking and very bad decisions.

Fans of Bridesmaids, Rough Night and The Hangover will have plenty of fun with this movie. And with 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a US box office gross of more than $100 million, critics and fans agree it’s a winner.

See you at the movies. Grapefruit optional.

Girls Trip opens across the country on August 31.
