The 2020 Golden Globe Nominations Have Been Announced

Jen! Margot! Meryl! - by Isabelle Truman

The 2020 Golden Globe Nominations Have Been Announced

The Golden Globe nominations are always our first glimpse at who we can expect to win big at the Oscars in February and this year, a lot of our favourites could be taking to the stage at both prestigious awards ceremonies.

From Margot Robbie getting a Best Supporting Actress nod for her role in Bombshell - her second Golden Globe nomination ever - to everyone's favourite woman Jennifer Aniston topping off her best year yet with a nod for her portrayal of a news anchor in The Morning Show (yes, her co-star Reese Witherspoon naturally got one too), to Meryl Streep beating her own record for the most Golden Globe nominations ever at 34.

Of course, there were some notable snubs: Zendaya and Euphoria were missing from the list, despite the show being one of the most talked about of the year and, as usual, no women directors were nominated in the Best Director category, despite Natalie Portman loudly declaring "here are the all-male nominees" at the 2018 Golden Globes and women-directed films, such as Hustlers, Booksmart and Little Women, being nominated in other categories. Hello, can anybody hear us?!

Below, the full list of 2020 Golden Globe nominees.
