Regina King Made a Pledge For Equality

Actress Regina King stepped on stage to accept her award as she won Best Supporting Actress for her work in If Beale Street Could Talk.

While on stage, the star pledged that the next film she produces will be at least 50% women.

“So often everyone out there they hear us on the red carpet and they say a celebrity is using the time to talk about ourselves when we are on our soap box and using a moment to talk about the systemic things that are going on in life,” Regina said during her speech.

“The reason why we do this is because we understand that our microphones are big and we are speaking for everyone,” she added. “And I just want to say that I’m going to use my platform right now to say in the next two years everything that I produce I’m making a vow and it’s going to be tough, to make sure that everything that I produce that is 50% women.

The Fiji Water Girl Became The Red Carpet’s Unsung Hero

As the first award show of the year, the 2019 Golden Globe red carpet was a fan fare to remember – with fashion, beauty, and loved-up celebrity couples coming out in throws.

But, a surprising contender has taken out this year’s award for most memorable red carpet moment (or moments – that is).

A red carpet attendee from Fiji Water was on deck to dispense bottled water to each celebrity.

The Fiji Water girl ended up in the background of countless celebrity pictures, often striking a pose, or simply looking shocked to be there.

Safe to say, Twitter had a field day.
