Police Investigating Rape Allegations Against ‘Gossip Girl’ Star Ed Westwick

The actor has denied the accusations

UPDATE:

The Los Angeles Police Department has opened an investigation into actress Kristina Cohen’s claims that she was raped by Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick in 2014.

As Deadline reports, Cohen has filed a police report, which alleges that the “suspect forced victim to have sexual intercourse inside his residence…three years ago”.

Cohen published a disturbing account of her alleged ordeal in a detailed Facebook post on Tuesday.

According to Cohen, she was having dinner at Westwick’s house with her producer boyfriend three years ago when Westwick “suggested ‘we should all fuck.’” She and her boyfriend brushed off the invitation, but what followed “was a nightmare.”

“I said I was tired and wanted to leave, trying to get out of what was already an uncomfortable situation. Ed suggested I nap in the guest bedroom. The producer said we would stay for just another 20 more minutes to smooth everything over, and then we could leave,” Cohen writes.

“So I went and laid down in the guest room where I eventually fell asleep, I was woken up abruptly by Ed on top of me, his fingers entering my body. I told him to stop, but he was strong. I fought him off as hard as I could but he grabbed my face in his hands, shaking me, telling me he wanted to fuck me. I was paralyzed, terrified. I couldn’t speak, I could no longer move. He held me down and raped me.

“It was a nightmare, and the days following weren’t any better.”

Cohen’s account makes for harrowing reading. She goes on to detail how her producer boyfriend blamed her, saying if she went public she could forget about her acting career. “Saying there’s no way I can go around saying Ed ‘raped’ me and that I don’t want to be ‘that girl’” she recalls in the post. “And for the longest time, I believed him. I didn’t want to be “that girl”.

She continues: “I now realize the ways in which these men in power prey on women, and how this tactic is used so frequently in our industry, and surely, in many others. I’m sickened to see men like Ed respected in such a public way.”

Westwick, who played serial womaniser Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl, has denied all accusations on Twitter.

“I do not know this woman. I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape,” he posted.

According to Deadline, Cohen’s producer boyfriend, who has not been named, now lives in Australia.
