When it comes to Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex-partners, there is no one as supportive as her. And now, the Goop founder is looking back at a relationship from her past, since that same ex has recently been the talk of the town.

According to People, Paltrow took part in a fan Q&A on her Instagram on July 22, where she spoke on the recent wedding of her ex-partner Ben Affleck and his current wife, Jennifer Lopez.

Paltrow and Affleck were in an on-again, off-again relationship between 1997 to 2000, after the pair starred alongside each other in the Academy Award-winning film, Shakespeare in Love, which saw Paltrow win her first Oscar for Best Actress. Following their break up, Affleck began dating Lopez and proposed to her in 2001. As we know, they called off their wedding in 2003 and announced they’d split in 2004.

In a 2003 interview with Diane Sawyer, Paltrow confessed that she wasn’t shocked that Affleck and Lopez weren’t going to ring the wedding bells.

“Ben makes life tough for himself,” she said at the time, as per Entertainment Weekly. “He’s got a lot of complications, and you know, he really is a great guy. So I hope he sorts himself out.”

Now, two decades later, Affleck and Lopez finally tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas, with Lopez even donning two wedding dresses for the nuptials.

But what did Paltrow think about their eventual marriage? Well, she’s in complete support of their love.

“Love!!! So romantic!!! Very happy for them,” Paltrow wrote in an Instagram Story.

Currently, Paltrow is married to Glee writer-producer Brad Falchuk but has notably remained rather close to her former flames, including Brad Pitt. Having dated for three years in the late ’90s and even getting engaged, they called off their engagement in 1997. Recently, Paltrow and Pitt sat down for a chat on Goop to promote his new fashion line.

During their chat, Paltrow even joked that she “found the Brad I was supposed to marry” in her current husband Falchuk. And for Pitt, he told Paltrow that it was “lovely” that they can call themselves friends. “I do love you,” he said, to which she replied, “I love you so much.”

And of course, Paltrow’s most famous ex is her former husband and Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, who she shares two children with, 18-year-old Apple and 16-year-old Moses.

“I mean, it’s funny. He was over here yesterday,” she said on the Shop Today With Jill Martin podcast in June 2021. “He’s like my brother. You know, he’s my family.”

Not only has Paltrow mastered the wellness space, but clearly, we could learn a thing or two about how she’s healed from past relationships.
