Things aren’t looking so great for Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand Goop, at the moment. The actress’ company is currently being sued by photographer Larry Singer for approximately $200,000 AUD ($150,000 USD), according to court documents obtained by E! News. The lawsuit alleges that Paltrow’s company have committed copyright infringement, by using a photo of Bonnet House, taken by Singer.

His lawyers claim, “Goop did not license the Photograph from Plaintiff for its Website, nor did Goop have Plaintiff’s permission or consent to publish the Photograph on its Website.” The image of the Fort Lauderdale house was used in a travel guide for the Floridian city, and still remains posted on the Goop website. In addition to the stated monetary compensation, Singer is also requesting any profits that Goop made from his work.

If this is all sounding a bit too familiar, it’s probably because it is. This isn’t the first time the lifestyle brand has been sued. In 2018, Goop was taken to court over their claim that yoni eggs could “balance hormones, regulate menstrual cycles, prevent uterine prolapse, and increase bladder control,” among other benefits. However, as most people suspected, the vaginal eggs didn’t have the results the company claimed.

As a result, the brand was forced to pay $145,000 USD in civil penalties and were “barred from making any claims regarding the efficacy of its products without possessing competent and reliable scientific evidence, and from manufacturing or selling any misbranded, unapproved, or falsely-advertised medical devices.” In addition, any purchases of the eggs were refunded.
