It comes as no surprise that Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle brand, Goop, is known to promote some rather, well, out of the ordinary products. And while the brand itself has previously been behind controversial releases, like jade eggs and 22-karat gold tobacco pipes, many turn to their annual gift guide for a seasonal chuckle.
Joining their annual Mother’s Day gift guide, the lifestyle brand’s 2021 Christmas offering has been released, and it is perhaps its most interesting yet. Naturally, the world has some thoughts.
This year, Goop are encouraging their fans to spurge on gifts like an AUD $50,000 pastel-hued jungle gym for their children, who are sure to appreciate the luxury purchase.
But that’s not all, the list also includes an AUD $14,000 sled by Chanel, an AUD $6,700 in-person class to learn how to make a pair of Air Jordan sneakers, a subscription to “psychic school” and our favourite, Oshēn’s 12-pack of frozen Atlantic salmon, worth AUD $144 and supposedly curated for George Clooney himself.
But of course, those who are looking to pinch some pennies aren’t left giftless. In their list of items under AUD $130, Goop has ensured that all bases are covered when surprising your special someone.
Among the contenders, the lifestyle brand suggests opting for a miniature concrete fireplace for AUD $128, a 2022 Moon calendar for only AUD $52, a pair of rubber Birkenstocks or an avocado vase for those in your life with green thumbs.
Joining the gift guide’s affordable list are other categories, including The Lover, which features a dozen sex toys and the infamous ‘This Smells Like My Vagina’ candle; and The Forward-To-Your-SO, which includes a range of items from luxury kitchenware to a week-long painting workshop while eating pasta del giorno in the Tuscan countryside.
