Gwyneth Paltrow Invited Her Ex-Husband Chris Martin On Her Honeymoon

Modern family much?

In the most extreme example of “conscious uncoupling” we’ve ever seen, Gwyneth Paltrow’s ex-husband, Chris Martin, joined her on her honeymoon with new husband, Brad Falchuk.

(Meanwhile, I can’t even be Facebook friends with my ex without breaking out in hives…)

Speaking to Live with Kelly and Ryan this week, Paltrow described her Maldives honeymoon (which also included her children Apple, 14, and Moses, 12) as a “very modern honeymoon.”

“We had a big family honeymoon over Christmas. So my new husband and his children, my children, my ex-husband, our best family friends [all went],” she said.

When host Kelly Rippa stuttered, “Wait, your ex-husband went on your honeymoon?”, Paltrow casually replied, “I mean, yeah, pretty much.”

She didn’t, however, mention if Martin’s new girlfriend Dakota Johnson tagged along.

If you thought the dinner conversation between Paltrow’s ex and current husband might have been awkward, you’d be wrong.

Paltrow insisted the banter flowed at the table, “Oh, just great conversation and lots of kids and you know what it was great, we had such a good time.”

The honeymoon came three months after Paltrow wed Falchuk in a ceremony in The Hamptons in September, and four years after she split from Coldplay frontman Martin in 2014 after 10 years together.

At the time, Paltrow and Martin coined the term “conscious un-coupling,” and they’ve clearly proved their commitment to co-parenting their children.

“We just wanted to minimise the pain for the kids,” Paltrow said. “They just want to see their parents around a dinner table, basically, so we try to keep that.”

Gwyneth Paltrow stars on the cover of the February issue of marie claire, out now.
