How do you prepare to audition for the role of the most important female superhero of all time? The same way you get ready for a night out on the town, apparently.
Gal Gadot has revealed she listened to Beyoncé to calm her nerves before her Wonder Woman audition.
“When I auditioned for Batman v Superman, I didn’t know it was for Wonder Woman,” Gadot told W Magazine. “The director, Zack Snyder, asked me to do a camera test. That was torture. They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us. Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind. So, I decided to put on Beyoncé.”
“Who runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyoncé!” she added.
We bet Gadot is still dancing to the Beyoncé girl-power anthem, with Wonder Woman banking more than US$620 million worldwide since its launch 21 days ago.
The film, directed by Patty Jenkins, has become the top grossing live-action film from a female director and is expected to overtake Frozen’s US$1.28 billion in ticket sales.
Yep, girls really do run the world.
