HOW-TO:

1 Start by moisturising your lips with a clear balm. “I let it sit on the lips while I do the eye make-up and then wipe it off before applying lip colour,” says Dempsey.

2 Next, apply a lip stain. “That way, if your bold lip colour fades, you still have a natural looking hint of colour.”

3 For precise application, use a fine lip brush to apply your lipstick. “With bold colours, it’s wise to follow your natural lip shape rather than extending the colour beyond your actual lip.”

4 “Intense colours can be more high maintenance – so travel with your lip colour and be ready to reapply!”
