5 Simple Ways To Make Your Beauty Routine More Sustainable

It’s makeover time

Beauty routines are riddled with not only masses of packaging but chemicals. Our skin is our biggest organ, whatever we put on it is absorbed straight into our bloodstream. Here’s how to make small transitions to make your beauty routine beautiful.

1. Conscious consumer

Use your power as a consumer to make mindful decisions, opt for less packaging, cleaner ingredients and don’t be afraid to ask companies where their products come from.

2. Plastic-free periods

3. Make long-term switches

Break-up with single-use items like make-up wipes and cotton swabs and opt for long term solutions like reusable make-up wipes.

4. Used by

Did you know that on the back of all of your make-up is a guideline on how long you should use a product after opening it before you discard it? This is called a Period After Opening

(PAO) symbol and in it is a number followed by an M. I.e 3M means you should stop using the product 3 months after opening it. These guidelines were created as makeup is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and bugs, gross!

5. Revolutionise your beauty routine with the Think Dirty app

Simply scan a beauty product and find out if the ingredients are really what they say they are using their Dirty Meter. Get clean.
