Husband Allegedly Called Wife To Tell Her He Killed Their Daughter

A Florida man made a telephone call to his wife at work on Monday deliver chilling news.

Authorities allege Jeremy Main, 38, called his wife Holly Main to tell her he had killed their 17-month-old daughter Makenzie and turned himself into police.

According to The Independent, police found the toddler dead in the bathtub at the family’s Lady Lake home.   

Police say two teenagers also lived at the house, but were at school at the time of the girl’s death.

A police report obtained by PEOPLE alleges that Main walked into the sheriff’s office in Lake County soon after to turn himself in.

The 38-year-old was reportedly bleeding from his wrist and told deputies: “I killed my daughter and failed to kill myself”.

The father allegedly told officials that he had recently split from his wife, which had fuelled his actions. 

According to the report, Main “admitted to having marital problems with his wife”.

Main has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond. He will front court on November 6.
