This New Eco-Friendly Aussie Fashion Label Already Has So Many Celebrity Fans

Sustainable clothing with a unique '90s feel.

Just months into the launch of their debut collection, Lack Of Color founders Rob Tilbury and Tess Corvaia’s newest venture has already gotten the celebrity tick-of-approval. A vintage aesthetic and eco-friendly ethos defines the new sustainable label, I DREAM FOR YOU, with the design duo focusing on creating pieces inspired anywhere from the ’70s to 2000s, perfectly embodied by its babydoll dresses, cotton jeans and breezy sets.

“I DREAM FOR YOU was born out of the desire of trying to buy clothes that have that vintage feel and tell a story,” Tilbury and Corvaia tell marie claire Australia. “Those key pieces that you love to wear over and over again, mixing and matching with existing pieces in your wardrobe to create the perfect look. An expression of your self and unique style.”

Each piece is sustainably made in Morocco from recycled and organic materials, a mission the two were committed to since the brand idea was first formed.

“The fashion industry is fundamentally based on a ‘turn and burn’ framework,” the designers explain. “It is common for brands to release anywhere from six to twelve collections a year. These collections are then swiftly moved to sale and reduced to make way for the next range.”

“This cycle is then repeated over and over. This is hugely unsustainable and creates an unnecessary amount of waste,” they add. “Our vision at IDFY is to create timeless pieces, that can be sold to consumers for years to come, without being seasonalwhilst doing our part for the planet.”

I DREAM FOR YOU’s debut collection features timeless pieces like the IDFY Blouse, a classic button-down which has already been spotted on the likes of Kourtney Kardashian. “It was great to see Kourtney wearing our pieces and support the brand,” Tilbury and Corvaia said.

And while creating high-quality, long-lasting pieces that are also sustainably made is, as the pair describe, a “hard equation to navigate”, after years of hard work they feel they’ve “done it.”

It’s also unsurprising that the label has quickly garnered the attention of the global fashion set, with the pair no strangers to creating cult pieces through their hat label Lack of Color. Since the brand’s inception in 2011, it’s built up a loyal fanbase that includes Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Gigi Hadid.
