I tried Charlotte Tilbury’s cult-status palette

And now I can’t put it down

If you want to make a beauty obsessive run, tell them there’s free Charlotte Tilbury products 100 metres away.

The celebrity make-up artist, who counts Kate Moss, Miranda Kerr and Victoria Beckham as clients AND close friends, tends to have that effect. The make-up and skincare in her eponymous range is the kind that tends to soar to bestseller lists immediately following release, and with good reason: they’re that good.

Take the Instant Beauty Palette, a pretty much, well, instant sell-out. So naturally, when the brand launched a follow-up palette, the Instant Seductive, we were eager to get our hands on it.

Unlike those palettes we all have at home, of which only two or three colours ever get used, the shades in this one have been curated by Charlotte so that you can’t help but use them all.

There are three eye shadow shades – a subtly shimmery pale rose gold for the base; a luminous taupe for layering and a chocolate-y bronze for a natural take on the smoky eye.

I stuck to the first two shades (the smoky eye look isn’t really what I was going for at work on a Monday morning, tbh), then added the peachier of the two blush colours and finished with the highlighter. Had I been tanned, I would have gone for gold with the bronzer too.

The colour pay-off is impressive – you don’t need much on your brush at all – and I found each shade had great staying power.

The palette is designed to work with all complexions and you can play with all the colours to best match your skin tone.

If you’re the type to dash out the door in the morning with all your make-up crammed into your handbag to do on the run, this palette has your name on it.
