Say what you like about Jarrod, but don’t say he didn’t do anything and everything to try to win over Sophie Monk on The Bachelorette.
The vineyard manager, who made it through to the final two before being sent home in Fiji, really thought he was going to end up with the girl, making his final scenes extra heartwrenching and almost impossible to watch.
“To this day, I still have feelings for Sophie. I will for a long time, she’ll always have a place in my heart,” Jarrod told marie claire the day after the finale aired.
Seeing a heartbroken Jarrod walking down the beach was hard for everyone to watch.
“I was gonna jump in [the ocean], with the mic on, and just keep walking,” he revealed today.
Following rumours of Sophie and Stu’s rocky post-show relationship, Jarrod said he would “definitely” take her back.
“The feelings are still there, Sophie and I had something real,” he said on The Project. The connection we had and the emotions we grew over time – what people don’t see behind the scenes is what we’ve actually achieved together.”
