Jenna Dewan Tatum Speaks Out For First Time Since Channing Tatum Split

She's hit back at those rumours

Just days after announcing her split from Channing Tatum in a joint statement, Jenna Dewan Tatum has hit back at rumours about why they separated.

Dewan Tatum shut down reports speculating that Tatum’s drinking habits and flirting with other women led to their marriage breakdown.

One of those reports came from the Mirror Online, who resurrected an old Star Magazine interview with Tatum in which he declared: “I probably drink too much. My wife, that’s what she bought into”.

But a representative for Dewan Tatum is having none of it.

“Happy to clarify that absolutely none of these rumors are true,” the rep told PEOPLE.

“The reason our statement was so positive [was] because that’s the reality of the situation.”

The pair were married for nearly nine years after first meeting on the set on Step Up in 2005, and have a four-year-old daughter Everly.

“We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful journey that is taking us on different paths for now,” they shared in a statement Instagram on Wednesday.

“There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly.”
