It Looks Like Jennifer Lawrence And Cooke Maroney Might Already Be Married

The evidence is compelling

Jennifer Lawrence and her fiancé Cooke Maroney have reportedly tied the knot after an eight-month engagement. The actress and art gallery director were spotted at New York courthouse City Hall on Monday, accompanied by a photographer, a friend and two security guards.

Page Six reports that a person inside the courthouse tweeted (then deleted), “When you go get your marriage license and Jennifer Lawrence walks by to tie the knot before your eyes. Yeah, kids, City Hall is COOL. The place to go!”

Lawrence was wearing a grey blazer and jeans, while Maroney wore a white sweatshirt and chinos.

Given that the couple is planning a big wedding party next month, the outing could have been to simply pick up a wedding license – or to make their marriage legal in the US before tying the knot officially overseas (as Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas did). However, Maroney was reportedly hiding his ring finger outside the courthouse afterwards and the photographer who joined the couple is rumoured to be famous celebrity photographer Mark Seliger.

Recently, Lawrence opened up about marrying Maroney, saying that she is too “lazy” to be stressed about the big day. “I’ve been in a good place. I haven’t been neurotic about it. I’m like, too lazy to be neurotic,” she told Catt Sadler on the NAKED with Catt Sadler podcast.

“I saw a dress I liked, I was like, ‘That’s the dress.’ I saw a venue, I was like, ‘Cool, we got the venue.’”

The Hunger Games actress also said that before meeting Maroney, she wasn’t thinking about marriage. “I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like I’m ready to get married. I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully and you know, he’s my best friend. I feel very honoured to become a Maroney.”

“I want to legally bind him to me forever and, fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing,” she joked. “It’s the greatest. You find your favourite person on the planet, you’re like, ‘You can’t leave.’ So, I wanted to take up on that offer.”
