In what feels like a complete blast from the past, former flames Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reportedly rekindled their romance, or at least, have just started to hang out again.
Mere weeks after her split from Alex Rodriguez, the pair, who are both newly single, have been “spending time together”, as per Page Six.
In a series of paparazzi photos, Affleck was spotted at Lopez’s California home, which the publication has reported that she “sent for him” by having him chauffeured over in a white SUV.
“Security picks him up at a nearby location and drops him off after spending a few hours at her house,” according to an insider.
While the information is currently nothing more than rumours, let us not forget that J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez, who had been engaged for over two years, finally called it quits on April 15 after something of a protracted break-up. Their public back-and-forth of claims that they were “still working things out” quickly contrasted with certain Instagram images that happened to not include an engagement ring.
“Where are you keeping the fountain of youth?” the two-time Oscar-winner joked. “Why do you look the same as you did in 2003 and it kind of looks like I’m in my 40s…at best?”
And naturally, their sudden coupling has sent the internet—and heards of millennials—into overdrive.
Back in mid-January, Affleck and Ana De Armas reportedly ended their relationship after almost one year of oddly preformative dog walking coffee runs.
Lopez and Affleck’s former romance, otherwise known as “Bennifer”, dates back to 2002 when they met on the set of the film Gigli, while Lopez was married to Cris Judd. The pair notably dated for two years, with Affleck famously appearing in her “Jenny From the Block” music video. However, they were set to be wed in September 2003, but postponed the event just a day earlier and only a few months later, it was all over.
Despite an entire generation hoping and praying that Jenny from the Block, Affleck and his enormous Phoenix back tattoo are seemingly back on again, other sources have told Page Six that our beloved Bennifer is strictly platonic.
“They are friends,” said a source. “They’ve never not been.”
While the pair both moved on to other relationships and started their own families, they are said to have remained supportive friends—and we can see why.
