Following the recent backlash towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over the royal couple opting to fly private for trips to Europe this month, one of Meghan’s best friends, Jessica Mulroney, has spoken out defending the Duchess.

Joining the likes of Elton John, Ellen DeGeneres and Pink, Mulroney called out the negative press surrounding Meghan, saying “3 years of undeserved hate and abuse. It’s enough.”

Taking to Instagram, the brand consultant and Good Morning America fashion contributor posted a statement reading, “When someone faces unfair criticism, you call it out. When that person is your friend and your family, you call those critics what they truly are. Shame on you, you racist bullies.”

Instead of focusing on what’s currently making headlines, Mulroney addressed the three years of ongoing criticism Meghan has faced since she was first linked to Harry in 2016, which includes hundreds of stories about the former Suits actress including unfounded claims that she’s demanding, driving a wedge between Harry and William and making Kate Middleton cry.

Mulroney first met Meghan when she was living in Toronto, Canada filming Suits and the pair have been close friends ever since. Although Meghan relocated to London to live with Harry, the pair still see each other often (remember when Meghan was seen on a commercial flight to Canada to visit her bestie last year?). Mulroney was a part of the royal wedding last May (her children were also part of the bridal party) and she was seen attending the Duchess’s baby shower in February.
