John Krasinski Cried When He Heard Emily Blunt Sing For The First Time

But not for the reasons you think

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are one of those rare Hollywood couples that actually seem, you know, relatable.

They’re forever playing pranks on one another or making jokes about one another – but every now and again, one of them will sing the other’s praises – and subsequently leave fans swooning in their wake.

The latest? Krasinski just admitted he cried the first time he heard his wife sing.

“I had literally never heard her sing a note,” Krasinski told Vanity Fair. “I thought (the movie Into The Woods) was such a cool gig, but, to be honest, I was really nervous for her.”

When he told the film’s director, Rob Marshall, he’d never heard Blunt sing before, Marshall arranged an impromptu concert.

“His mouth was wide open. He did not say anything. He just turned to the window, cued the song, the orchestra started playing, and Emily started singing, and I just immediately wept,” Krasinski said.

“It was really wild. It was like finding out that your wife can levitate,” he added. “It was just like, ‘”When were you going to tell me this?'”

If that wasn’t enough, Krasinski also further sang his wife’s praises in Vanity Fair:

“The air changes in the room when she starts doing what she does. It’s so honest and so pure and so powerful. It’s like a superpower that she can just unlock and do so specifically with not many attempts. For me, I love acting, and I’m so lucky to be doing it. But she’s on another plane. This weird intersection happened while filming where I totally forgot I was her husband. I was just watching her performance and was lucky enough to be in the front row.”
