Johnny Depp wants details of divorce proceedings with Amber Heard to be kept private.

The 53-year-old actor filed papers on Friday asking for a confidentiality agreement before handing over any personal documents. In his submission he described his divorce as “one of the most heavily publicized celebrity divorces in recent memory” and asked for confidentiality.

So far Heard has declined Depp’s request.

The 30-year-old actress and model filed for divorce in May after 15 months of marriage, and later raised allegations of domestic violence.

“Johnny does not dispute that Amber is entitled to the majority of the information sought in her discovery requests and subpoena,” said the documents, according to US Weekly.

“He is willing to produce the documents necessary for Amber’s evaluation of the relevant issues in this case, such as division of community estate and spousal support.

“This case has been extraordinarily public since its inception. There have been daily articles in the domestic and foreign press about this proceeding and the parties’ lives. Every detail of this action has been chronicled by the media and it has become one of the most heavily publicized celebrity divorces in recent memory.”

“Amber’s need for financial information to resolve this case is distinct from the public’s appetite for information about celebrity divorces.

A court hearing is scheduled for September 8, according to People.
