Secret Basement Discovered In Josef Fritzl’s Guesthouse

This is chilling

Almost a decade on from when Josef Fritzl’s ‘house of horrors’ was uncovered, construction workers have made a chilling discovery at a guesthouse owned by the Austrian rapist.

Workers found a secret basement during a routine inspection of Fritzl’s guesthouse outside of Salzburg.

As The Mirror reports, builders found a staircase leading nowhere behind a false wall. Police are yet to confirm if they will investigate the building.

Fritzl ran the Seestern guesthouse in the town of Unterach am Mondsee until 1996. The man renting out the guesthouse, Helmut L, told local media: “There are cavities everywhere in the house”.

Fritzl imprisoned his daughter Elisabeth for 24 years. He first lured Elisabeth into the basement of the family home in 1984 and raped her thousands of times, resulting in the birth of seven children.

As The Independent reports, Fritzl is currently being held in a special facility for ‘mentally abnormal criminals’.
