It seems there is no stopping our November cover star, Julianne Moore! With a huge list of films under her belt in the last 12 months alone, she's a force to be reckoned with, making her the perfect casting for her latest project.
Moore has been announced to play feminist and political activist, Gloria Steinem, in the upcoming film, My Life on the Road.
Following on from Steinem's memoir of the same name, the film will be directed by Julie Taymor, known for her work on the stage musical of The Lion King (which gave her the acclaimed title of the first woman to win a Tony for directing a musical).
Alone a Taymor and Moore collaboration would be nothing short of exceptional; add to the mix the story of the woman who was the face of gender equality and you're onto a winner.
The story, as the title suggests, focuses on Steinem's journey through life, and how life on the road and moments that she faced, helped shape her into the iconic feminist that we all know.
Talking to W Magazine, Moore mentioned her looking up to the likes of Steinem: “I think artistically, somebody like [Isamu] Noguchi, somebody who really moves me because of the consistency of his work and the way he is celebrating shape and motion," she said in October of her personal heroes. "I think about Gloria Steinem, someone who championed women’s rights so early.”
The November issue of marie claire starring Julianne Moore is on sale now.
