The singer was visibly shaken after hearing the news of Selena's physical and mental health battle and reportedly spent the day alone, before heading to church and then his pastor's house.
"Justin spent most of the day alone and even took a solo hike to the Wisdom Tree in L.A. to get away and decompress," a source told Entertainment Tonight.
“Although he is engaged to Hailey, Selena holds a special place in his heart…Above everything Justin wants the best for Selena… he understands how serious this is," they continued.
"When [Justin and Selena] rekindled their romance, he got to see how her health really affects her, so he understands how serious this is."
To recap, Justin and Selena dated on and off from 2010 and gave their relationship another go in late 2017, calling it quits for good in March of this year. Justin was then linked to his ex Hailey Baldwin in June, before proposing to her in July.
Thankfully, according to PEOPLE, Gomez is recovering and surrounded by close family. "She’s surrounded by close family and has a lot of support. She’s doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast.”
