‘Karl For Ever’: Celebrities Gather In Paris To Pay Tribute To Karl Lagerfeld

Celebrating the life and legacy of the iconic designer

Friends and colleagues of Karl Lagerfeld gathered at the Grand Palais in Paris this evening for ‘Karl For Ever’, a memorial service celebrating the life and legacy of the legendary designer. Lagerfeld died at the age of 85 on February 19.

Cara Delevingne honoured Lagerfeld with a poem written by French writer Colette, which was one of the fashion icon’s favourite authors, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Helen Mirren paid tribute with excerpts from ‘The World According To Karl’, a book of quotes that he published in 2018. Tilda Swinton honoured the late designer with Virginia Woolf’s ‘Orlando’, another of Lagerfeld’s favourites. Pharell Williams also performed.

Models Gigi Hadid and Claudia Schiffer, fashion designers Valentino Garavani, Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney, were also in attendance.

The houses of Chanel, Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld organised the event, described as “chic, not sombre”.
