Kate Hudson Plans To Raise Her Daughter With A ‘Genderless’ Approach

No labels for little Rani

Kate Hudson has revealed she plans to raise her daughter Rani Rose with a ‘genderless approach’. The 39-year-old actress revealed in a recent interview with AOL that she has embraced the approach with three-month-old Rani, as well as her two sons from previous relationships: Bingham Hawn, 7, and Ryder Russell, 15.

“[Having a daughter] doesn’t really change my approach, but there’s definitely a difference,” she told the outlet. “I think you just raise your kids individually regardless, like a genderless [approach]. We still don’t know what she’s going to identify as.”

“I will say that, right now, she is incredibly feminine in her energy, her sounds and her way,” Hudson explained. “It’s very different from the boys, and it’s really fun to actually want to buy kids’ clothes.”

“With the boys, it was just onesies…actually, I did pretty good with the boys,” she said. “But with her, it’s a whole other ball game. There’s some stuff that I’m like, ‘I can’t do that to her, because it’s so over-the-top’.”

While Hudson is committed to raising her three children in a gender-neutral environment, Kurt Russell previously shared that her demeanour has changed compared to how she parented her sons as babies.

“She’s a little different with the little girl, I think at this stage, then I remember her being with her boys [at this age],” the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star told People in November.

“We’re really glad that she got [a daughter] and had an opportunity to have her,” Russell continued, adding of Hudson and boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, “We’re proud of Danny and the relationship that grew between Kate and Danny, the result being Rani Rose.”

After welcoming Rani last year, Hudson couldn’t help but gush about her new baby girl. Watch the video below.
