The Duchess of Cambridge glammed up for a night at the museum.
Kate Middleton, a patron of the Natural History Museum, is preparing to announce the winner of this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition at the award’s first-ever virtual ceremony.
The royal announced the upcoming ceremony via a clip from the iconic London museum’s Hintze Hall, which was shared to the Kensington Palace social media accounts.
In the video, the 38-year-old royal wore an all-black ensemble that featured a square-neck, long-sleeved top and sleek black pants. She wore a matching black blazer, similar to one sister-in-law Meghan Markle wore to one of her first engagements as a member of the royal family. She matched her look with pearl teardrop earrings and her hair in its signature waves.
“It is so wonderful to be back at the reopened Natural History Museum, where we can all enjoy its treasures once again,” Kate said. “I’m here because tomorrow night I’m announcing the 56th Wildlife Photographer of the Year.”
“I’ve been lucky enough to have a quick preview and I can say it’s truly spectacular. I can’t wait for you all to see it,” she added.
The Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year ceremony is a special one, marking the world’s longest-running and most prestigious wildlife photography competition. The ceremony also encourages millions of people around the world to rethink their relationship with nature and become advocates for the planet.
Fittingly, the announcement comes just days after husband Prince William launched his Earthshot Prize—a global prize for the environment, designed to incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next ten years, as well as an additional TED Talk on the urgent need to tackle the environmental catastrophes around the world.
