But if you thought Kate's unexpected outfit choice was a once off, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. It appears the mother-of-three intends to continue putting her most stylish foot forward, after feeling like she had gotten into a 'style rut' recently.
People reports that Kate has been working closely with her stylist Natasha Archer to inject more youth and edge into her wardrobe. Of course, the change could also be due to Kate's new stylist, her university friend and former fashion magazine editor Virginia Chadwyck-Healey (known as Ginnie). It's rumoured Chadwyck-Healey has been helping the Duchess since the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry last May but has recently ramped up trying out new things, like the now-famous Gucci pussy bow shirt, which the royal wore backwards — one serious styling trick if we ever saw one.
“Kate felt like she was in a bit of a style rut and thought she needed a little edge,” a source revealed. “She’s consciously worked on getting her look to be a bit younger and more modern, and it’s worked! She looks amazing, and she is getting lots of compliments about it.”
Recently, the Duchess has been stepping out in a lot of summer appropriate dresses. Most recently, a white shirtdress by British designer, Suzannah, paired with an Alexander McQueen belt and basket box bag, black pumps and her favourite pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses.
The day before that, she wore a green printed dress by cool girl French label, Sandro Paris, a favourite of celebrities such as Gigi Hadid and Reese Witherspoon.
If this month is anything to go by, we can't wait to see more from Kate's new and improved wardrobe offering.
