Kate Middleton Has Responded To Health Concerns Surrounding Her Latest Royal Outing

"Even though she’s outside, she’s not six feet from other people"

Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit from their royal duties, it’s not surprising that Prince William and Kate Middleton have been in the spotlight more than ever.

From wholesome Zoom calls to NHS staff and glimpses into Kate Middleton’s rustic home, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now in the news for how they’ve approached the coronavirus restrictions.

Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie, hosts of the podcast Royally Obsessed, expressed concern over the Duchess’ recent visit to children’s hospice The Nook, and were “surprised” by the relaxed approach to social distancing rules.

After explaining that Middleton’s decision to not wear a mask was “concerning” her, Rachel Bowie stated: “The reason I bring it up for this event is because in some of the pictures, even though she’s outside, she’s not six feet from other people.”

Roberta Fiorito agreed, adding: “Especially around children and in a children’s hospice, that might be something where they would definitely advise you to wear a mask. I’m surprised they didn’t. I have to say, it’s all about the pictures.”

She continued: “It’s interesting because we saw William do it once. He wore a mask for the first time in public because he was at an Oxford vaccine group to learn about the progress being made. But we’ve seen the King and Queen of Spain wear masks in public, we’ve seen Harry and Meghan wear masks in public. We’ve even seen Sophie too so I’m so surprised she hasn’t.”

To conclude, Bowie stated: “I think if you’re socially distanced and you’re outside, it’s more accepted. But in some of the photos, she really is close as she’s planting, although not with the kids. She’s planting with adults in those photos, but I’m curious.”

While the Royal family have not formally responded to the concerns, it seems like Kate Middleton responded in her own way. Taking part her next two royal engagements, she made sure to wear a floral printed face mask to ease concerns, and to match her outfit.

“To help support the most vulnerable families in the UK, The Duchess of Cambridge has brought together 19 British brands and retailers to donate over 10,000 new items to more than 40 baby banks across the UK,” read the post on the Kensington Royal Instagram page.

“The Duchess helped unpack donations at Baby Basics UK in Sheffield before talking to parents about how baby banks have provided them with invaluable support when they have needed it most.”

With a new face mask alongside her, Kate Middleton has grown fond of her new safety standard, so it seems like the case is closed.
