The moving ceremony took place yesterday (November 10), and Her Majesty watched the events unfold from the balcony of the Foreign Office in an all-black ensemble complete with five poppies.

Kate Middleton stood alongside the monarch in her 74th Remembrance Sunday service, as they watched Prince Charles lead the ceremony – the third time in which he has taken on the prestigious role.

For the occasion, the mother-of-three stuck to fashion failsafe Alexander McQueen in a military-style coat and matching fascinator.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex paid her respects from a separate balcony with Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

The former Suits star chose a bespoke Stella McCartney coat for the event with a Stephen Jones wide-brimmed hat to finish.

Though the royal family’s position during the event has nothing to do with regal protocol.

After last year’s ceremony, where Meghan stood alongside Elke Büdenbender, the wife of the German president, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam told The Sun: “The balconies overlooking Whitehall occupied by the Royal Family are very small.”

“The Queen was without Prince Philip who has retired and the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge are future Queen Consorts.”

The evening before, the royal family stepped out for the annual Festival of Remembrance Service at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Duchess of Cambridge chose a navy ensemble by go-to designer Emilia Wickstead finished with Jessica McCormack earrings and a surprisingly affordable Zara headband.

It’s the first time the Cambridges and Sussexes have been photographed in public together since Prince Harry seemingly confirmed rumours of a rift between himself and Prince William.

“Part of this role and part of this job and this family being under the pressure its under, inevitably stuff happens,” he said in British documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey. “But we’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I’ll always be there for him and I know he’ll always be there for me.”
