Kate arrived in Pakistan in a blue bespoke dress and matching pants. The ombre look, featuring a draped neckline, is inspired by the traditional shalwar kameez, a lightweight outfit that pairs a loose-fitting tunic top with pants underneath. The look was very similar to one Princess Diana wore during her solo visit to Pakistan in 1996. Kate’s outfit was by Catherine Walker, one of her go-to designers that was also a favorite of Princess Diana.

To visit the Badshahi Mosque, Kate wore a stunning turquoise Shalwar Kameez by Maheen Khan with a gold trim and a matching headscarf. Keeping with tradition, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge walked barefoot into the iconic Islamic site. 28 years ago, Princess Diana visited the same location wearing a green coat dress by Catherine Walker — a favourite designer of Kate’s as well — and a headscarf.
